Every Decision Can Become Tomorrow’s Headline
NCAA Crisis Communications Simulation
When the House v. NCAA settlement reshaped the future of college athletics, one thing became clear: every decision would have a communications consequence.
My challenge was to build the response.
I analyzed the legal and operational implications of the settlement, from revenue sharing to athlete compensation, and translated a complex issue into clear, stakeholder-focused messaging.
Along the way, I developed a full crisis communications plan, including key messages, stakeholder considerations, media strategy, and a comprehensive Q&A framework designed to prepare leadership for tough questions.
Then I put it into practice.
During a live press conference simulation, I served as the spokesperson, defending the organization’s position while navigating challenging media questions in real time.
What I Built
Full crisis communications plan addressing a multi-stakeholder issue
Media kit with key messages, talking points, and Q&A preparation
Live press conference simulation with real-time media questioning
Strategic messaging framework balancing athletes, institutions, fans, and public perception
